In cooperation with the junior research group BioInequalities and FDCL e.V., the brochure "Amazonien: Der große Landraub. Die Landfrage im Kontext alter und neuer Strategien der Inwertsetzung" has now been published with contributions from

  • Maria Backhouse (University of Jena) and Thomas Fatheuer (FDCL);
  • Jan Borner (University of Bonn);
  • Eliane Moreira (Public Prosecutor, Ministério Público Estadual, Pará) and
  • Maurício Torres (State University of Pará - UFPA, Belém ), Cândido Neto da Cunha (Brazilian Agrarian Reform Agency - Incra, Santarém) and Natalia Ribas Guerrero (State University of São Paulo -USP).

The contributions introduce the complex situation of the land question in Amazonia and the controversy surrounding the environmental register CAR (Cadastro Ambiental Rural) from different perspectives. Finally, the possibilities and pitfalls of a bioeconomy for Amazonia are discussed.
